ComicsZoom.Com Privacy Policy

Have you ever read a privacy policy on a webpage before and went away thinking, "wow, that lawyer must have been paid by the word for that?"

Me too.

Our privacy policy is going to be in plain, simple, easy to understand, and occasionally grammatically correct sentences (no promises on that last part though.)

What Information We Collect.

We do not collect any information on website visitors except for information pertaining to the visit itself used for traffic and marketing analysis. In otherwords, we keep track of what pages you view to see who is more popular, Batman or Iron Man. We do this through the use of cookies. If you are unfamiliar with what a cookie is, you can read up on them here. This information is neither anonymous nor identifiable but in a gray area in between. Please be assured though that we are far too lazy and cheap to afford the computing power necessary to transform this gray area into easily identifiable information.

We also collect information that you have explicitly provided to us through the act of site registration or while purchasing a product from us. We need this information to make sure we don't bill you twice or send the package to the wrong address, so we hope you wont mind. If you do, feel free to let us know.

Our Policy on Spam

If it doesn't come in a can and get fried with Pineapple, then its not a good kind of SPAM and we are against it. We do like to send emails alot though. If you buy something from us, expect to recieve an email confirming the transaction (otherwise known as a reciept.) If, at the time of registration, you agree to join our mailing list, we will also send you notifications of upcoming sales, promotions, events, catastrophes, and weekly shipping notifications. If you wind up on our mailing list and dont want to be, you can send us an email (ironic, yes) or call us and you will be removed within 24 hours. Please be polite. We really shouldn't have to ask that.

We will never, ever, ever share your information with anyone. Even if Google offers us thousands of dollars to betray your privacy, we still wont do it. We may, on rare occasions, agree to send information on behalf of a third party as part of our regular mailings, but we will never divulge your information to that third party. If we ever change our mind and decide to be gutless worms, we will clearly indicate that here in the privacy policy, and on our registration page and we will give you a chance to opt of our mailing list beforehand. That's just how we roll, G.

Our Policy On Children below the age of 13

We like kids. Some of us even have some running around at the moment. Its in our best interest as much as it is yours to make sure that we protect their privacy. Therefore, we strongly believe in the COPPA (Child Online Privacy Protection Act) Regulations.  It is our belief that Comic Books and Graphic Novels should be enjoyed by children of all ages with the knowledge and explicit oversight of their parents. And we assume that anyone old enough to get a credit card is probably an adult and not a child, and is competent within their community standards to decide what they or their children read. If for any reason you believe that your child has registered for our site and you do not wish us to retain this information or use it for marketing puporses, then send us an email or call us and we will immediately remove your child's information from our systems excepting any information necessary to deliver any goods already paid for, or to grant a refund for goods not yet delivered.

From time to time in the future, we may have contests or promotions that are tempting for children. At such times, a child will need to specifically get parental consent to register to participate in these contests or promotions. The internet being the scary place it is though, we all know that a child can lie about their age and fool the computer. That is why we strongly recommend that you run software on your child's computer to keep tabs on their online activities.

Our Policy on Adult Stuff

We like Adult stuff too. More importantly we like the First Amendment. But we also like not going to jail. And while we are staunch supporters of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, we hope to never personally need their services. Therefore, sexually explicit content is not available on our site at this time. In the future, as we develop ways to ensure that this content doesnt make its way into inappropriate hands, we will be glad to carry it. For now, how about and issue of Green Lantern instead?

Links

We would like to say that no site linked to from our site will ever violate the explicit (if slightly irreverant) privacy policy that we have in place. We would also like to say "verdächtigen" but we arent really sure how to pronounce the umlaute or even what that word means. Instead we will just say that we cannot make any guarantee that a link on our site linking to an external site not controlled by us will play by the same rules of fairness and good humor that we do, so please use caution and judgement when following links.

See, that wasnt so bad was it?
